Title: Characterization of Classification of Porosity and Permeability Based on Rock Type of Thin Porous Limestone Reservoirs in Middle East
Abstract: The reservoir properties of thin, porous limestone reservoirs in Middle East are characterized by low permeability, thin thickness, and strong heterogeneity with numerous reserves. However, it is currently facing the problem that further understanding of the reservoirs are needed for the oilfield development. From the perspective of lithological classification, the physical properties and micropore structure of the limestone reservoirs of the Khasib Formation are described in detail according to the core experimental data. The controlling effects of sedimentary and diagenesis was discussed. Based on sedimentary, diagenesis and petrophysical features, rock type of Khasib reservoir were clarified. And reasonable porosity-permeability relationship based on rock type was proposed to provide a geological basis for the establishment of accurate three-dimensional property models and ensure the high-speed and effective development of thin porous limestone reservoir.
