Abstract: At the beginning of the 20th century, the physiologist and endocrinologist Gregory Pincus created the contraceptive pill, which at first was only intended to regulate the menstrual cycle and, over the years, came to be used as a contraceptive method. Its use has a high prevalence, as it is a very effective method in birth control, reducing menstrual flow, as well as signs and symptoms arising from the menstrual cycle such as acne, hirsutism, menorrhagia, dysmenorrhea and also in reducing the risk of diseases such as breast cancer.ovary and endometrium.MATERIAL AND METHODS This is an integrative review, evaluating cross-sectional, descriptive or quantitative research on the relationship between the use of contraceptive pills and the development of DVT.RESULTS AND DISCUSSION Thrombosis is when a clot forms, like when someone gets hurt and a small bag forms there with cells to stop the bleeding, it's more or less as if this happens inside a blood vessel, that's what we call walking venous thrombosis, or it could be an artery, and it could give, for example, a stroke. So these are really serious problems, and they need to be immediately treated and prevented in the best possible way, in fact those who use hormonal methods and some are more at risk than others, have an increased risk of developing this problem of thrombosis, but this risk is not so that's increased as most people think, and it's increased in some people at increased risk as well due to other factors, so that's what's important to differentiate. Conclusion: In summary, the work in question, in addition to its social relevance, has been very contributive in a personal context, having provided a practice with bibliographical research, through which it was theoretical knowledge about the subjects worked, as well as being able to contribute professionally, having considering that the knowledge acquired for the development of the research can be used in the exercise of the profession.
