Title: The Principles and Logic of Competency Testing in Higher Education
Abstract: The aim of this chapter is to argue that more attention should be devoted to student learning assessment in higher education, using multiple types of instrument, some of which link directly to teaching and learning in the future. Examples from the case of the U.S. will be used throughout, as this case is illustrative of the underlying trends faced by all countries, to one degree or another.
