Title: Estimating the overall modulus/CBR of geosynthetic-reinforced extremely weak subgrades
Abstract: The increasing land demand challenges engineers to construct infrastructures in and on very soft ground conditions (subgrades). Therefore, it is imperative to improve the modulus and bearing capacity of these soft subgrades to allow construction machinery. This study introduced a geocomposite-embedded capping layer (gravel layer) on the soft subgrade to increase its modulus and bearing capacity by about 15 per cent and 50 per cent, respectively.
