Title: Design and development of Open-Source Spirometer for monitoring Respiratory health.
Abstract:Spirometry is the most common type of pulmonary function test that measures how much air you can breathe in and out of your lungs, as well as how easily and fast you can blow the air out of your lungs...Spirometry is the most common type of pulmonary function test that measures how much air you can breathe in and out of your lungs, as well as how easily and fast you can blow the air out of your lungs. Despite the importance of spirometry in diagnosis and management of respiratory diseases, the commercial spirometers that perform these tests can be expensive and not accessible to everyone. Our open source spirometer (Spir-O) utilizes readily available electronic components and sensors, which can be easily assembled and calibrated. We believe that this project can help make spirometry more accessible to a wider range of individuals and communities, especially in resource-limited settings.Read More
