Abstract: Numerous investigations into the nonlinear optical properties of certain organic and polymeric materials have shown that these materials possess the largest observed optical nonlinearities. [1] [2] [3] [4] For implementation of all-optical and electro-optical communications and data processing systems, materials possessing large optical nonlinearities are required. Applications employing guided wave structures require materials that also are suitable for waveguiding and integration.
