Title: An Investigation of Direct Torque Control for a Six-Phase Asymmetrical Induction Motor
Abstract: The Direct Torque Control (DTC) technique is investigated in this research for a Six-Phase Asymmetrical Induction Motor (SPAIM) in a MATLAB (matrix laboratory) environment. The superior DTC mechanism for the three induction motors is extended to the SPAIM. It is also regarded as an alternative to Field-Oriented Control (FOC) and the Vector Control technique (VC). The goal of the DTC approach is to efficiently control the flux and torque. This research paper presents a thorough analysis of the torque and flux control of SPAIM using the DTC technique. The effectiveness of this control strategy has been evaluated by applying it to the Six-Phase Two-Level Voltage Source Inverter (SPTLVSI) fed 2.2 kW SPAIM using MATLAB simulation.
