Hoffmann-Vold leads research in inflammatory and fibrotic diseases and also runs a clinic for patients with systemic sclerosis and connective tissue disease-associated interstitial lung disease, noting the integral connection between the two. “Without basic evidence, what we do in the clinic is not really evidence-based. Collaborative working is also a priority, uniting people who are “often in totally different worlds” but are travelling down the same road. With experience and persistence, Hoffmann-Vold builds the bridge piece by piece.
