Abstract: Teaching shifted to online platforms in India during lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic. This study has been undertaken to know if students liked online lectures in comparison to classroom lectures and how online learning affected their academic performance. Study discusses about the major factors that made students prefer online sessions. Online teaching has its own challenges especially in a developing country like India where there is infrastructure inequality. Interviews with students revealed the challenges they faced during online teaching. Faculty adapted to online teaching quickly and experimented with the pedagogy to make online sessions more interesting. Discussions with students helped in knowing the effectiveness of various teaching methods adopted by faculty.
