The authors of this chapter addressed the current literature on how climate changes influence the activity and seasonality of insects and flowering plants. A three year field study was conducted at a reserve in southwestern China on flowering seasons in 54 orchid species. A long, cold winter in 2008 delayed flower initiation in approximately half the species observed by five days or more.
