Title: Implementation of Load Balancing and Firewalls for Efficient Network Management in Software Defined Networks
Abstract: The advent of new communication standards, supported by robust hardware equipment, has always revolutionized our understanding of Networking. One of the recent and significant developments along this line is the paradigm of Software-Defined Networking. This novel concept aims at providing programmable networks which enables us to simplify network management. In other words, SDN aims to centralize the network intelligence by separating the data plane from the control plane. In this paper, the SDN concept and the software tools required such as Mininet, OpenFlow and RYU Controller, are explored. Additionally, performances of popularly used hardware OpenFlow switches are compared and summarized.
