 The letters of M.Shokay provide detailed information about the historical events of Kazakhstan and Central Asia in the early twentieth century and political figures of that period. The formation and fall of the Alash and Kokand autonomies, the coming to power of the Bolsheviks, the position of the Soviet government on national minorities are reflected in the letters of M. Shokay. He wrote very sharply about his political and ideological opponents Kerensky, Validov, Jangildin and others in his letters.
