Title: A comprehensive review of antihypertension activity of Paederiafoetida
Abstract: Herbal medications have been utilized to treat hypertension and other illnesses in India and within the rest of the world, since old times. In comparison to synthetic pharmaceuticals, herbal drugs are regularly non-toxic or less poisonous, with less antagonistic effects. As a result, there’s a strong desire around the world to explore more about alternative treatments such as Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathy, Siddha, and others that are said to be more effective, safer, and cost-effective. A large number of plants have been described in Ayurveda and another traditional system of medicine for the treatment of hypertension. Research has found an assortment of alternative treatments to be successful in diminishing high blood pressure including diet or daily eating, workout, stress management, supplements, and herbs. Almost 75 to 80% of the world populace use herbal medicines, basically in developing countries, for primary health care. Ayurvedic knowledge needs to have collaborated with modern medicine and more scientific research needs to be done to verify its effectiveness. Hence in this review, an attempt has been made to summarize all the details of this plant which includes the phytochemicals present in the whole plant of Paederiafoetida, the pharmacological activities of the plant, its traditional uses, and its antihypertensive effect on the Plant.
