When it comes to efficient power conversions, it has a lot of flexibility. Despite the fact that it transfers power at higher levels, switching losses are reduced since the converter uses fewer semiconductor components. In this study, three-, five-, and seven-level Modular Multilevel Converters (MMC) were investigated and developed using MATLAB/Simulink. For creating firing pulses, this work introduces novel Multicarrier Phase Shifted Pulse Width Modulation Techniques (MCPS-PWM). Using proposed MCPS-PWM, the performance of various levels in MMC like three-level, five-level, and seven -level was examined. Conventional multilevel converters like the cascaded H bridge (CHB), Flying Capacitor Clamped (FCC), and diode clamped (DC) multilevel converters are simulated and their percent THDs are compared to MMCs using the proposed MCPS-PWM.Read More
