Title: Removal of Alkali and Alkaline Earth Elements from Cobalt Solutions Using Iminodiacetic Acid Chelating Resin
Abstract: The separation effect of iminodiacetic acid resin on alkali & alkaline earth metals in cobalt solution was explored. The static adsorption process of Co(II) by iminodiacetic acid resin was described using Langmuir and Freundlich model. The equilibrium separation factors of Co(II) for each ion in the binary system were calculated, which showed that TP207 resin had higher selectivity for Co compared with alkali & alkaline earth elements. The dynamic column experiment of “Adsorption,” “Rinsing,” “Elution,” and “Washing” improved the purity of CoCl2 raw material from 99.87% to 99.99%, and the resin can be recycled, which has a good application prospect in the preparation of high-purity cobalt.
