Thi...This chapter uses the concept of choreomania as a thought-provoking envelope to describe one of Authentic Movement's most powerful, collective group formats, a so-called Long Circle (Adler, 2002). This exploration in writing and film forms part of the author's arts-led research to explore Authentic Movement and to develop arts-led methodologies that are coherent with the practice itself. The chapter offers a detailed insight into a usually sealed and private world and is designed to be read alongside a viewing of the author's film Long Circle. Long circles in Authentic Movement, although often slow in movement speed, can be as captivating as an artful contemporary choreography.
