Title: Abstract #1178603: Persistently High Parathyroid Hormone: Could it be drug-induced?
Abstract: Calcium metabolism is one of the most complex and amazing physiologic mechanism of our system. Various factors are needed to maintain adequate calcium homeostasis but the most important one is Parathyroid Hormone (PTH). PTH responds efficiently to disturbances of calcium levels to keep calcium in the normal range. When PTH values are not consistent with expected physiology we must consider other etiologies and now things get even more exciting. Here we present a case of abnormal PTH levels in absence of expected changes and propose a suspected etiology.
