Abstract: The rigor in design research and in its own projectual activity does not necessarily lead the requirement of obtaining an empowerment for design theories. Also, vacillations, indefinite debates, the inconsistency of the reflections in the project proposals, the other not just defined, have their intellectual and cultural dignity; perhaps they better represent what we call 'design' as also what we call 'design research'.The present paper exposes, only as basic scenario, part of a research on design theory, especially referring to the private involvement of two women of classical design history: Friedl Dicker-Brandeis and Marianne Liebe Brandt. Its purpose is to establish this basic scenario in which, in subsequently texts, reconstruct the learning that design can obtained from feminist philosophy.
