Title: Activities and Surface Tension of Liquid AgCl ‐ LiCl Solutions
Abstract: Molten solutions were investigated. Emf studies were carried out using formation cells with a chlorine electrode and surface tension measurements by the maximum bubble pressure method. Emf studies were made at concentrations of at temperatures of 873–973 K and were used for a thermodynamic description of the bulk phase. Surface tension measurements for pure , , and binary melts were carried out at temperatures of 760–1060 K and simultaneously densities were measured. Thermodynamic data of the bulk phase were combined with surface tension and, by application of different models dealing with the thickness of the surface phase, the respective changes of enthalpies and entropies in the surface were calculated.
