Description: A recent survey showed that 4.3% of pigs slaughtered in Great Britain were tail-bitten (Guise and Penny, 1998). This figure could be reduced through a better understanding of the individual traits associated with tail-biting. The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between tail-biting and aggression in pigs reared in barren and enriched environments.
