Abstract: Logo is available on an increasing number of microcomputers, and many teachers arc considering Logo as an alternative to BASIC for young children. Should you consider Logo? By all means; Logo is an excellent language that can easily be learned by young children. But do not choose Logo as an alternative to BASIC, choose Logo as a companion language. Logo is excellent for some graphics, procedures, and structural programming and is available at an extra cost for some additional memory. For Cartesian graphing and most mathematics, BASIC is excellent and widely available at no extra cost. To illustrate Logo, let me introduce you to some elementary programs for your students.
