Title: Wireless Body Area Sensor Network in Healthcare Applications
Abstract: A Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) consists of a large number of sensor nodes which is distributed over the area chosen for monitoring purposes of some specific physical parameters. The primary function of a sensor node is to sense some physical or environmental attributes such as temperature, humidity, light sensitivity, pressure and so on. Each of these sensor nodes has some level of intelligence for signal processing and networking of the data and is capable of transmitting the data by wireless communication. The sensor node can sense one or multiple physical parameters and is able to transmit the same in a single-hop or multi-hop fashion towards a single collector node in the network which is called the sink node or Base Station (BS). The received data from all the sensors is processed, analyzed and the appropriate action is taken based on the requirement of the network.
