Die Abbildung rechts zeigt das STM-Bild einer Domäne aus dem (R)-Enantiomer der verwendeten Isophthalsäure und 1-Heptanolmolekülen mit submolekularer Auflösung. Mit dem Racemat der Isophthalsäure wurden nebeneinander vorliegende, enantiomorphe Domänen erhalten.
