Abstract: Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is a common anxiety disorder that appears to be due to a disturbance in central serotonergic functioning. Drugs, such as clomipramine, that inhibit neuronal reuptake of serotonin are effective in treating OCD. Behavioral therapy techniques are also effective.
