Abstract: Rare-gas clusters are ideal microclusters, for which a reliable theoretical treatment may be achieved due to the applicability of a simple pair potential such as the Lennard-Jones potential. Dynamical and thermodynamical properties of rare-gas clusters have already been discussed in Sects.2.2 and 2.4.1. In this chapter we first treat static properties of xenon and argon clusters observed by mass analysis. Then, we discuss the ground states of 4He and 3He clusters which are rather peculiar among rare-gas clusters.
