Abstract: This section deals with certain general problems of Marxist sociological theory. The sociological theory of Marxism arose as the result of the application of philosophical materialism and materialist dialectics to the study of society and the understanding of human history. Marxist sociology is the science of the laws and motive forces of the development of society. Its point of departure is the materialist solution of the question as to the interaction of social being and social consciousness, of social phenomena — material and intellectual — of economics and ideology, etc.
