Abstract: Mediation is a form of conflict resolution that aims to help two or more parties resolve their dispute through the help of a third party, that is, a mediator. This article highlights the research on mediation discourse carried out in the tradition of language and social interaction. It focuses on the interactional organization of mediation, the concept of neutrality, mediators' techniques to construct a specific form of interactivity, disputants' contribution to shaping mediation talk, the problem of argument and reasonableness in mediation, and the idea of mediation talk as a social achievement.
