Abstract: A 72-year-old woman presented to the emergency department complaining of a warm, painful left knee for the past 18 h. It had become so painful that she was unable to walk. The x-ray studies (Figure 1, Figure 2 ) were consistent with pseudogout. Arthrocentesis confirmed the presence of calcium pyrophosphate dihydrate crystals in the joint.
