In Serbia, the teaching was entirely online from March to May 2020. Тhis paper presents the results of a study concerning primary school students’ parents’ perception of online teaching, which is a part of a broader research on online teaching. The research was conducted on sample of 554 parents from Serbia. An online questionaire specially designed for the purpose of the research was used. The main goal was to investigate parents’ attitudes towards online teaching ‒ the arguments for and against it, as well as perceived difficulties. The results showed that mothers were the ones who were mostly involved in online teaching, that parents had to dedicate 1 or 2 hours daily of their time to online teaching and that parents were aware that online teaching was accompanied by more difficulties than advantages. Parents stated that the use of IC tech- nology contributed to improving the teaching process. Disadvantages most often included the lack of contact with other children and the problem of getting timely feedback from teachers. Whan it comes to the dominant difficulties, parents percieved that there was too much study material and tasks on a weekly basis, time organization of studying at home and insufficient communication with teachers. The significance of this research is reflected in its exploratory character and the fact that it was conducted at the very moment when online teaching was taking place.Read More
