Park, Sungjun Hong and co-workers design a halogenated phenothiazine based self-assembled monolayer as a new type of hole transporting layer in inverted perovskite solar cells, displaying an energetically well aligned interface with the light absorbing perovskite top layer. The advantage of halogenated phenothiazine is that it provides an efficient interfacial defect passivation for fast charge transport with minimal recombination, which can lead to improved efficiency and excellent long-term stability.
