Title: Compact, Eco‐friendly Desalination System Offers Options for Special Applications
Abstract: To address environmental and energy concerns, IDE Technologies, a company based in Kadima, Israel, has developed a number of innovative technologies and has now incorporated them into the new IDE PROGREEN™, a self‐contained reverse osmosis (RO) system for water desalination. IDE PROGREEN reduces the operational costs of a typical RO treatment plant by optimizing the energy consumption and eliminating the use and handling of chemicals. It is delivered in a customizable, self‐maintained platform, thus eliminating the need for additional infrastructures that are typically required for water treatment plants and the associated financial investment. The units can be designed to process from 500 to 5,000 m 3 /d of salt water and 500 to 10,000 m 3 /d of brackish water. Systems can also be custom‐designed for different feed water parameters.
