Title: A mesh generator for an adaptive multigrid MFD/FE method
Abstract: This chapter discusses the original method of mesh generation, based on mesh density control. It is designed for and useful in adaptive analysis, as it is capable of various mesh modifications especially focused on highly efficient multigrid solution approach, carried out by means of the meshless FD and FE methods. The chapter presents some problem formulation, followed by algorithms, preliminary tests, and applications. The generator produces various types of output data. These include information on series of meshes generated during an adaptive refinement process. Numerous semiautomatic and automatic mesh generation techniques are available. Liszka's type mesh generator is an efficient tool making use of a mesh-density-control mechanism allowing smooth increase and decrease in local mesh density. The mesh-generation algorithm makes use of Liszka's technique, extended to irregular meshes, and combined with a mesh modification strategy.
