Abstract: Enterprise resource planning (ERP), as well as the earlier approaches manufacturing resource planning (MRP II) and material requirements planning (MRP), focuses on an individual company, in particular on the planning and control within the company. In contrast to this, supply chain management (SCM) looks at chains (or networks) of companies connected with each other through supplier-customer relationships.
