Abstract: Precis: This author describes the development, implementation, and assessment of a skills training program for instructional supervisors. Main goals of the workshop were to heighten awareness of supervisory tasks and related competencies, to facilitate the development of required skills, and to stimulate interest in further professional growth. Four topical themes formulated the oontent of the program — communication, interpersonal relations, supervisory strategies, and time utilization. An experiential approach was used in the implementation of the program and assessment was based on data from questionnaires and observers. Participant reaction to the workshop was most favorable. Implications for supervisory inservice training also are included.
