Content Delivery Network (CDN) and Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) were thus introduced to avoid severe delay for video streaming services. A CDN moves the video content to the surrogate servers and MEC provides computation and storage at edges, which reduces the transmission latency and improves overall service performance. This paper presents an adaptive unicast and multicast video streaming service system that efficiently utilizes the CDN, MEC and layered video coding to reduce the latency of the user's request and enhance the Quality of Experience (QoE).Read More
