Title: Publicidad y género: propuesta, diseño y aplicación de un modelo de análisis de las metáforas de género en la publicidad impresa en lengua inglesa
Abstract: La tesis arriba mencionada se situa en el marco de la encubierta caracteristica del lenguaje publicitario. Este trabajo profundiza en el conocimiento de las metaforas de en el discurso publicitario. El termino de genero es una acunacion de Fuertes Olivera (1999), que designa a aquellas metafora cuya proyeccion conceptual (mapping) pone de relieve una relacion de discriminacion (en sus multiples manifestaciones: desigualda, subordinacion, dependencia, etc) motivada por razon de sexo y dirigida mayoritariamente hacia el sexo Asi se plantea la hipotesis de que el discurso publicitario se sirve de manifestaciones semioticas que evidencian una clara discriminacion por razon de sexo, mayoritariamente manifestada hacia el sexo femenino. Estas manifestaciones se hacen patentes normalmente a nivel implicito en el mensaje publicitario mediante recursos como, por ejemplo, las metaforas de genero. Con esta hipotesis en mente, el objetivo general del presente trabajo es proponer, disenar y aplicar un modelo flexible de analisis de las metaforas de en la publicidad impresa en lengua inglesa. La Tesis introduce los siguientes aspectos claves y novedosos: 1,- El analisis de la publicidad ha de realizarse desde el analisis del discurso, haciendo especial hincapie en los aspectos funcionales y semioticos. 2,- El lenguaje publicitario en lengua inglesa es un lenguaje especializado con un ligero grado de abstraccion, de caracter divulgativo, y muy proximo al lenguaje general. 3,- El canal publicitario es un elemento condicionante de la comunicacion publicitaria. 4,- El eslogan es una unidad textual especializada que se sirve de estrategias como el metadiscurso para crear un texto persuasivo de apariencia informativa. 5,- El sexismo que opera en la publicidad es de naturaleza sincretica y se manifiesta a menudo de forma implicita, por lo que puede califica
