Abstract: The basic objectives of this course include the student’s understanding of:
1.The methodology and perspective of sociological social psychology, particularly the symbolic interactionist perspective, compared with various psychological approaches (e.g., psychoanalysis, cognitive psychology, behavioral psychology).
2.The centrality of language and communication in social processes and behavior.
3.The social and cultural influences on social interaction, motivation and the development, maintenance and change of identity.
