Title: Low Temperature Nitrogen and Carbon Plasma Based Processing, Doping and Synthesis of Nanostrutured Energy Storage/Conversion Materials
Abstract: Electrochemical energy storage (EES), such as lithium ion batteries (LIBs) and supercapacitors (SCs), systems have emerged as the leading energy storage technology due to high capacity energy storage, power density and large number of charging-discharging cycles but also because of their ability to easily transport the energy such as portable devices. Similarly on the energy conversion front, with hydrogen and oxygen as chemical fuels, the hydrogen and oxygen production by efficient combination of water and electric or solar energy in the presence of a catalyst (by electrocatalysis or photocatalysis) using hydrogen- and oxygen- evolution reactions (HER and OER) is a highly active research area. Both, energy storage and conversion, processes require high performance materials in nanostructured form with desired physical and chemical properties to perform the specific task with high efficiency, reliability and stability.
