The war...In the history of wars there are numerous outstanding instances where victories were won by those armies or military formations that were led by capable and resourceful generals or commanders. The war trickery or ruse is in theory seen as a comprehensive system based on generalization of experience from history and on application of different manners and procedures of concealment of own troops and intentions, and of deception of the enemy. On the basis of such experience and system concrete measures and actions were being undertaken in keeping with the tasks and missions at hand. The war trickeries and ruses of the old Serbian Army had a continuity - starting from the First Serbian Uprising (1804) and through to the penetration of the Salonica front (1918) - which can be divided according to the time and the nature of the enemy to three periods: struggle for the restoration of the Serbian state after the Turkish occupation, the war against a single enemy (First Balkan War), and the war against coalition forces (World War I). The war trickeries were in the beginning conceived by individuals (generals and military leaders), and later on were included into the general system of military organization.Read More
