The research contribution includes immediate, scholarly analyses of geopolitical trends using journalism practice to discover information that is not available from other sources, for example the ‘War on Uighurs’ series derived from semi-structured interviews with members of the Uighur community in Adelaide. These are placed within a scholarly context, using analysis from experts in the field. In terms of research contribution, these podcasts provide a teaching and learning resource for educators who require scholarly analysis of current trends. In terms of journalism practice and research significance, they are celebrated in their field, winning the 2018 Australian Podcast awards News and Current Affairs award. The show is now archived in the Australian National Film and Sound Archive.Read More
