Title: Clinical efficacy observation of acupoint massage combined with acupuncture in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation
Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupoint massage combined with acupuncture in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation. Methods Sixty patients with lumbar disc herniation were randomly divided into the acupuncture group and acupoint massage plus acupuncture group,30 cases in each group. The acupuncture group was treated with acupuncture on the specific acupoint. The acupoint massage plus acupuncture group was treated with acupoint massage based on the treatment for the acupuncture group, with a course of 10 days. The changes on JOA scores and VAS score were compared. Results(1)There were statistically significant differences on the JOA score and VAS score in both groups between treatment before and after( P<0.05). After treatment, the D-values of JOA score and VAS score in the acupoint massage plus acupuncture group were greater than those in the acupuncture group( P<0.05).(2)Compared with treatment before, except the sensory disorders, the JOA scores of all items were increased in both groups after treatment( P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of lower back pain and activity limitation in the acupoint massage plus acupuncture group were higher than those in the acupuncture group( P<0.05). Conclusion Compared with acupuncture alone, acupoint massage combined with acupuncture in the treatment of the lumbar disc herniation can better improve the clinical symptoms of patients and relieve the pain, which is worth further research and promotion.
