In order to improve the surface hydrophobicity of plexiglass, under atmospheric pressure, plasma gas discharge jet is used to process plexiglass and introduce a large number of hydrophobic groups on its surface. The static water contact angle of the modified sample was tested, the surface chemical composition was analyzed by FTIR and XPS, and the surface morphology analysis of the sample was realized by SEM and AFM. Finally, the adhesion ability of the modified super hydrophobic surface of the sample was evaluated, and the tests were carried out for 60 days of natural aging, 10 cycles of alternating hot and cold aging, and pH 4–10 acid-base environment aging. The results show that the static water contact angle of the modified plexiglass surface has increased from 36.3° to 167.3°, there are a large number of CH3, Si-O-Si and other groups on the surface, the Si content has increased to 31.32%, and the surface roughness (RMS) has increased from 1nm to 392.5nm, and the original surface is modified by Nano-scale binary composite rough structure covered. Natural aging, alternating heat and cold aging, and acid-base aging have little effect on the super hydrophobic properties of the material surface. After each experiment, the water contact angle attenuates 9.2°, 6.8°, and 4.3° respectively. The prepared plexiglass surface has strong hydrophobicity and strong adhesion, suitable for popularization and application.Read More
