It has affected 218 countries over the world. It was announced as a global pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 12, 2020. Countries reacted differently to the disease. Countries' reactions are categorized as complete lockdown, partial lockdown, and herd immunity strategies. In this research, a sample of countries was selected based on their approach to responding to the pandemic. China, South Korea, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, and the Netherlands adopted the complete lockdown strategy to deal with the disease, while, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Italy adopted the partial lockdown, and Sweden, India, Hong Kong, Germany, and Taiwan adapted the herd immunity strategy. There is limited scientific research to prove the validity of each strategy. In this chapter, we will choose one country from each category and compare its results to assess its cases and investigate the validity of the strategy. It is critical to evaluate the public reaction to these policies and the impact of these policies from different perspectives to evaluate the strength of these measures in reducing the spread of COVID-19 spread.
