Title: Современная российская историография эпохи татаро-монгольского завоевания Руси (2000–2020)
Abstract: This article is devoted to the analysis of historiography of one of the most dramatic periods in the history of Russia -the period of Horde dependence. It presents modern domestic historiography in the period 2000-2020, during which there has been a great accumulation of ideas on a variety of issues, chiefly the interpretation of the term "yoke" as debated in the scientific community and the consequences of its influence on the socio-political institutions of the Russian principalities. The article highlights the modern works of historians distinguished, on the one hand, by the continuity of experience accumulated by the Marxist school, and on the other hand, by innovative approaches and new conclusions that refute the seemingly established canonical interpretations of the role of the Mongolian element in the works of Soviet classics.Regional historiography is also shown, among which the Kazan school plays a special role. The latter often pays increased, and sometimes exaggerated attention to the role of Horde domination in the formation of the Moscow centralized state, the legitimation of the power of Russian princes and the emergence of the title "tsar" and other institutions.
