Abstract: This paper discusses the aspects of the cognitive dissonance theory. Cognitive dissonance was first introduced through social psychology, but still plays a fundamental role in public relations. Cognitive dissonance theory (CDT) suggests that when individuals hold two or more cognition that are contradictory, they will feel an unpleasant state dissonance until they are able to resolve this state by altering their cognition.
