Abstract: Actigraphy has been used for decades in aid of diagnosis and management of sleep-wake disorders in individuals. In pediatrics, it is used to measure sleep parameters objectively in healthy individuals and patients with developmental disorders. Actigraphy has been validated in pediatrics. Benefits for using actigraphy include a small wearable device, a low cost, can be used over days and weeks and can be used at home. This article will discuss the validity and the use of actigraphy in different pediatric sleep disorders.
