Title: A New Mode Device for Dry-heat Sterilization
Abstract: We prepared a new mode dry-heat sterilizer based on the fundamental study. With this device, we put pressure upon carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and air to make a respective pressure of 1 kg/cm^2G for the study of sterilization at 130℃.Bacillus subtilis (number of bacterial spore : 10^6) and B. stearothermophilus (number of bacterial spore : 10^4) which were used for this trial were sterilized by the dry-heat treatment over 60 minutes. This new mode of the technique also contributed to gain a favorable sterilization effect in pyrogen tests, which brought about the negative test result.Temperature and time necessary for sterilization were markedly improvedf in the dry-heat treatment technique, compared to those in conventional methods. Thus, this new mode of the dry-heat sterilization technique can be applied hereafter not only for sterilization of medical devices and materials but also for some pharmaceutical products.
