Research on coliform bacteria as an indicator of water pollution in the Unus river was carried out in August 2019. This study aims to (1) Determine how high the level of Unus river water pollution matches the parameters of total coliform and fecal coliform as indicators of water pollution, and (2) Determining the quality of Unus river water is seen in the parameters of total coliform and fecal coliform based on Government Regulation No. 82 of 2001. This type of research is a descriptive exploratory study. The population of this research is the Unus river water with a length of ± 7,500 meters, including Sandubaya Subdistrict in Dasan Cermen village, Mataram Sub-district in Pagesang village, Sekarbela Sub-District in Karang Pule and Tanjung Karang villages. The sampling technique is purposive sampling, which is seen from the environmental conditions of the Unus river basin where the suspected pollution of material waste (industrial waste, domestic waste, and agricultural waste) of the river is suspected at that location. There are indications of coliform bacteria. The results of data analysis show that the Unus River has been contaminated by coliform bacteria with total coliform ≥ 16 . 000 MPN / 100ml and natural coliform ≥ 16 . 000 MPN / 100ml. While the level of contamination of coliform bacteria in the Unus River has exceeded the threshold for surface water types class II-IV.
