Title: The resilience of spanish tourism: differences by type of tourism
Abstract: By the end of December 2019 and outbreak of COVID-19 emerged in China. In few months this outbreak became into a pandemic problem which led to an international borders closure and a lockdown of at least 2 weeks in many countries, including Spain. This situation caused the veto of national tourism until the end of May, ban which persist on international tourism until the beginning of the summer peak. So, the aim of this research is to determine what has been the behavior or Spanish tourism. For that purpose, data from the 100 most popular destination in Spain was caught, trying to find the most resilient areas as well as the tourism typologies that have best resisted this crisis taking into account the 2019/2020 variation of traveler and their overnights stays. Finally, on the basis of these results, a deep reflection is carried out to know the Spanish and tourist behavior by regions and tourism typology.
