Abstract: Der Regisseur Volker Koepp, der zu der ersten Generation der Babelsberg-Schule fur Dokumentarfilme gehort, wird sowohl von den Semi-Dokumentarfilmen des russischen Konstruktivismus von Sergei Eisenstein oder Dziga Vertov als auch vom niederlanderischen Regisseur Joris Ivens stark beeinflusst. Volker Koepps Narration der Dokumentarfilme wird durch mindestens funf Techniken gezeigt: das Gesprachsinterview, das die Subjektivitat des Interviewers verdeutlicht, die Strategie der Intermedialitat, die Montage der Dialektik, die Historisierung der Gegenwart durch die Form des Kompilationsfilms und die poetische Darstellung der Natur. Volker Koepp hat 22 Jahre lang die Wittstock-Serienfilme gedreht. Sowohl diese als auch die markische Trilogie, die als Wendefilme bezeichnet werden, stellen diese Narrationstechniken dar. Der Kompilationsfilm Leben in Wittstock (1984) besteht aus vier Dokumentarfilmen: Madchen in Wittstock (1975), Wieder in Wittstock (1976), Wittstock III (1978) und Leben und Weben - Wittstock IV (1981): Neues aus Wittstock (1992), Wittstock, Wittstock (1997), die nach der Wiedervereinigung entstanden sind, uben Kritik an dem sozialistischen Realismus und der DDR-Gesellschaft durch die Technik der Semi-Dokumentarfilme. In der markischen Trilogie, die aus Markische Ziegel (1989), Markische Heide, Markischer Sand (1990) und Markische Gesellschaft mbH (1991) besteht, kann man die Technik der Semi-Dokumentarfilme wiederfinden. Hier werden der Widerstand gegen die DDR deutlich und der Untergang der DDR steht im Vordergrund. Diese Trilogie stellt eine tiefere thematische Erweiterung als die Wittstock-Serienfilme dar. Die Wittstock-Serienfilme und die markische Trilogie gehoren zum Heimatfilm. Die Einflusse der Semi-Dokumentarfilme auf die Ostpreusen-Serienfilme von Volker Koepp, die nach der Wiedervereinigung Deutschlands entstanden sind und die neue Thematik der kalten Heimat umfasst, mussen in diesem Zusammenhang untersucht werden.
